Grab a drink and come out to hear a discussion between the original #GIRLBOSS and COO of Vice Media, Alyssa Mastromonaco on everything from oyster shucking to cocktail-mixing and, of course, being bad-ass girlbosses. Sophia and Alyssa will take audience Q&As and Sophia will be signing copies of her books.

Sophia Amoruso is the Founder and Executive Chairman of Nasty Gal and the author of the New York Times bestseller #GIRLBOSS. Named byForbes as “Fashion’s New Phenom,” Sophia has established herself as one of the most prominent figures in retail and a style icon. She recently launched a podcast, #GIRLBOSS Radio, and is the founder of the #GIRLBOSS Foundation, which to date has awarded over $100,000 in financial grants to women in the worlds of design, fashion, music, and the arts. In 2016, Sophia teamed up with Courtney Love for the iconic grunge rocker and nineties fashion icon’s first collection, Love, Courtney by Nasty Gal; it was announced that #GIRLBOSS had sold to Netflix as a scripted comedy with Sophia producing alongside Charlize Theron and Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect); and November marks the 10th anniversary of Nasty Gal.
Alyssa Mastromonaco is Chief Operating Office at VICE Media in Williamsburg, NY. Previously she served as Assistant to the President and Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations at the White House from 2011-2014 and as Assistant to the President and Director of Scheduling and Advance at the White House from 2009-2011 and worked for Senator Obama on his campaign and in his Senate Office and was political director of his political action committee, HopeFund since 2005. Earlier in her career she was Director of Scheduling for Senator John Kerry’s presidential campaign in 2004 and before that was Press Secretary for Congressman Rick Boucher. Mastromonaco serves on the Board of Trustees for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. She also serves on the Board of Directors for HeadCount.org, Board of Visitors for the University of Wisconsin Political Science Department and the board of the University of Vermont Honors College. She is also a contributing editor at Marie Claire. Ms. Mastromonaco received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1998.
