Jubilee Book Club

If you would like to join our discussion, RSVP HERE! Once you RSVP we will send the meeting link to the email you provide.

This book club's sole purpose is to join together in celebration of the black women writers that have forever altered literature for centuries to come, both known and unknown. Together we will read and analyze black women's literature from the late 19th century through the 1970s while making connections to contemporary literature.

Book group selections are 10% off when purchased at WORD.

For Deidre, the path to a career in bookselling began when she was able to read books that allowed her to know that her circumstances were never permanent. It expanded when she found that the words and ideas she held on to from books allowed her to navigate the world with confidence and curiosity. It blossomed when she stumbled upon the revolutionary stories written by women of color in her WGSS classrooms. If she could describe her reading tastes with one quote look no further than the OG awkward black girl Issa Rae, "I'm rootin' for errbody black."
