Summer's technically over, but that doesn't mean you can't still go outside! Join author David Covell and WORD at Greenpoint's WNYC Transmitter Park for a morning of art making and storytime, plus cookies and cider. This event is co-presented by Friends of Transmitter Park, an organization that aims to make the park a welcoming place for every member of the community. Meet near the transmitter building at the Kent Street entrance.
ABOUT THE BOOK
In an era when we could all do with spending a little less time on our phones, David Covell's beautifully illustrated book Run Wild is a reminder for kids (and adults!) to take a moment and enjoy the outdoors. "This lushly illustrated ode to outdoor play and nature should inspire even the most reluctant couch potato to get out and ‘run wild,'" writes the School Library Journal.
