Launch Party for Slice Magazine Issue Six

This reading celebrates the publication of Slice’s sixth issue, the theme of which is Metropolis. Facebook RSVP encouraged but not required.


Ramona Ausubel’s work has appeared in One Story and the Green Mountains Review and is forthcoming in the Best American Fantasy. Her stories received special mentions in Best American Short Stories, Best American Nonrequired Reading, and the 2010 Pushcart Prize anthology. Ramona studied and taught writing at UC Irvine before traveling around the world by plane, train, camel, and elephant. 

Hassan Riaz is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where he earned degrees in creative writing, medicine, and finance. He grew up in Cerritos, California, and currently lives in Los Angeles. 

Rob Roensch teaches at Towson University and has recent work out in Avery and Lake Effect. He lives in Baltimore with his wife and daughter. 

Rachel Safko is a Jersey girl turned Brooklynite, with degrees in creative writing from UVA and Boston University. She should have been born in another era, as a flapper, Hollywood starlet, jazz lyricist, or Madame Blavatsky. Instead, she draws her inspiration from myriad cultures and cities, translates Russian poetry, and has written about everything from finance to fashion for publications such as the New York Observer.
