Kristy Leissle Presents COCOA

    Dr. Kristy Leissle brings you an afternoon of chocolate politics. Kristy will share insights from her new book, Cocoa, and discuss geopolitics and personal politics in the cocoa and chocolate industries, using stories and images from her fieldwork on farms and in factories around the world.

    Tasting of Divine Chocolate, book signing, and lively discussion all included!

    About the Book 
    Kristy Leissle, PhD, has been researching, writing, and teaching about the politics, economics, and cultures of cocoa and chocolate since 2004. She is affiliate faculty in African Studies at the University of Washington, Cultural Specialist for National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions, and CocoaMarketer for the London-based development through trade charity Twin & Twin Trading. Kristy holds degrees from the University of Washington, Oxford University, and Boston College, and is based in Accra, Ghana. She has loved chocolate all her life.

    This event takes place in our Brooklyn location. Entrance is a $5 voucher which can be purchased in advance online or at the door. The $5 voucher can be used towards anything in the store, including Coco! Please note that if a copy of Coco is purchased at the event, there is no need to purchase a voucher as well.
