Nell Zink comes to WORD in support of Nicotine, her new novel. The book, which largely takes place in Jersey City, sees this rising literary star apply her “unhinged brilliance” (New York Times) to observing through hilarious fiction the way human imperfections can drive our ideals but undermine our best intentions. She is also supporting her novella collection Private Novelist, out the same day.
Nell Zink grew up in rural Virginia. She has worked at a variety of trades, including masonry and technical writing. In the early 1990s, she edited an indie rock fanzine. Her writing has also appeared in n+1. She is the author of The Wallcreeper and Mislaid. She lives near Berlin, Germany.
