This event takes place at our Brooklyn location.
Join us for a book party for local writer Kim Masson's first novel Craig's List Chronicles: byte-size tales.
Everyone has a Craigslist story. Some people have more than others.
Greenpoint’s former rabble-rousing news gal, Kim Masson, is at it again. Only this time she’s dishing up tummy tickling stories about the online and offline adventures woof Craigslist in her debut novel, Craig’s List Chronicles: byte-size tales. From duping Nigerian scammers to finding love on the Greenpoint waterfront, these byte-size tales follow the life of Kelly Brixi, a tough nut New Yorker who has lost her mojo and turns to the internet in search of a happy-ever-after analogue existence. Told through emails, letters to Craig, and classified postings, this is a light-hearted debut that needs to be at the top of everyone’s summer reading list.
When Kim isn’t ghostwriting for celebrity chefs or working on her next novel, you can find her @kimasson and on her website kimmassonwrites.com.
Joining Kim to talk about her Craiglist adventures and falling in love with Greenpoint, will be fellow Brooklyn author Oriana Leckert. Oriana is a writer, editor, and cultural hipstorian whose love for Brooklyn borders on obsession. She is the creatrix of the website Brooklyn Spaces (brooklyn-spaces.com), a compendium of the borough's creative and underground culture; a writer for Atlas Obscura, the definitive guide to the world's wondrous and curious places; and a matchmaker for ghosts at Gotham Ghostwriters. Her writing has also appeared on Slate, Matador, Hyperallergic, Untapped Cities, and Brooklyn Based. She is relentlessly happy and will probably correct your grammar.
RSVP is encouraged, but not required.
