This event will take place at our Jersey City store. G. Willow Wilson, author of the new Ms. Marvel comic set right here in Jersey City, will discuss comics, super heroes, and science fiction, as well as take questions and sign both her comics and her books. She will be in conversation with Heidi MacDonald of The Beat. Wilson has also written the novel Alif the Unseen, a memoir titled The Butterfly Mosque, and the comic series Air. Facebook RSVP encouraged, but not required.
G. Willow Wilson has a deft hand with myth and with magic, and the kind of smart, honest writing mind that knits together and bridges cultures and people. You should read what she writes. Neil Gaiman, author of "Stardust" and "American Gods"
"The Butterfly Mosque," journalist G. Willow Wilson's remarkable story of converting to Islam and falling in love with an Egyptian man in a volatile post9/11 world, was praised as an eye-opening look at a misunderstood and often polarizing faith ("Booklist") and a tremendously heartfelt, healing crosscultural fusion ("Publishers Weekly").
