Join us as we celebrate the release of Jamie Brenner's latest book, The Forever Summer. Jamie Brenner will be in conversation with Amy Poeppel, author of Small Admissions.
Jamie Brenner’s delightful novel whisks readers away from the hard-charging streets of Manhattan to the dreamy beaches of Provincetown, Massachusetts. On paper, Marin Bishop appears to be at the top of her game. She is only twenty-nine years old, has landed a prestigious legal job, and has a successful and handsome fiancé, and her parents couldn’t be more proud. But one mistake brings her entire world crashing down. In The Forever Summer, Marin scrapes what’s left of her dignity off the floor of the apartment she can no longer afford and impulsively embarks on a road trip to Provincetown with an unlikely companion. As soon as they arrive at a beloved beachside inn, it’s clear that this summer will change Marin’s life forever. She discovers that her parents’ marriage is far from perfect, and establishes relationships she never knew she was missing. The Forever Summer is a multigenerational story about the secrets we keep from those we love most, and the extent to which the people closest to us can sometimes be the most unknowable. The characters are richly drawn, depicting a relatable family that desperately needs to make amends with their troubled past before they can move forward.
